Abstract
In this reaserch in addition to economic growth the effects of demographic, social and another economic factors on environmental degradation are investigated in framework of Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis and under the sustainability assumption of economic growth, for 60 developing countries, during the period 1995–2010 using unbalanced panel data analysis. Our results show that there is an inverted U-shaped the EKC for CO2 emission, but U-shaped anti EKC for PM10. Based on these results, it could be said that environmental and energy policies need to be ‘customized’ for each substance in all countries, rather to be standardized, also in the formation of environmental policies besides the economic growth the effects of social and demographic factors should be considered.

Çevresel Tahribatın Belirleyicileri: Çevresel Kuznets Eğirisinin Ampirik Bir Analizi

Ozet
Bu çalışmada iktisadi büyümenin yanı sıra, demografik, sosyal ve diğer iktisadi faktörlerin çevresel tahribat üzerindeki etkisi Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisi hipotezi çerçevesinde ve iktisadi büyümenin sürdürülebilirliği varsayımı altında, 1995-2010 dönem için 60 gelişmekte olan ülkede dengesiz panel veri analizi kullanılarak incelenmektedir. Sonuçlar, CO2 salınımı için ters U tipli bir ÇKE’nin, ancak PM10 salınımı için U tipli bir önleyici ÇKE’nin oluştuğunu göstermektedir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara dayanılarak, enerji ve çevre politikalarının tüm ülkelerde standart olması yerine, her bir kirleticiye göre ayrı ayrı tanımlanmasının, ayrıca çevre politikalarının oluşturulmasında iktisadi büyümenin yanı sıra, sosyal ve demografik faktörlerin etkilerinin de göz önünde bulundurulmasının gerektiği söylenebilir.
